Accessibility Statement
This statement was last updated on June 2026.
We at Sprouting Oaks Foundation are working to make our site sproutingoaksfoundation.org is accessible to people with disabilities. We believe that every person, regardless of ability, deserves full and equal access to information about our programs, services, and mission. Accessibility is not an afterthought for us. It is a direct expression of the same values that drive our work: compassion, dignity, and the conviction that no child or family should be left behind because of a barrier we could have removed.
What web accessibility is
An accessible site allows visitors with disabilities to browse the site with the same or a similar level of ease and enjoyment as other visitors. This can be achieved with the capabilities of the system on which the site is operating, and through assistive technologies.
Accessibility adjustments on this site
We are actively working to make our website conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA — the recognized technical standard for web accessibility under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Title III, which applies to public-facing organizations, including nonprofits. These guidelines are developed and maintained by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and describe how to make web content more accessible to people with visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, learning, and neurological disabilities.

Our website is hosted on the Wix platform. Because we rely on a hosted platform, some aspects of our site's accessibility are subject to the tools and features that Wix provides. We take full responsibility for the content we create and publish, and we advocate within our platform's capabilities for the highest level of accessibility possible. Wix maintains its own accessibility documentation, which we consult and work within as we build and update our site.
As part of this effort, we have also:
-
Used the Accessibility Wizard to find and fix potential accessibility issues
-
Set the language of the site
-
Set the content order of the site’s pages
-
Defined clear heading structures on all of the site’s pages
-
Implemented color combinations that meet the required color contrast
-
Reduced the use of motion on the site
-
Ensured all videos, audio, and files on the site are accessible
